２００６年に『Bonjour Vietnam』といってフランスの有名音楽家おっさんMarc Lucien Lavoineが、ベトナム系ベルギー人の女の子Phạm Quỳnh Anhへ提供した曲です。
Quynh Anhはベトナム戦争時に亡命した夫婦の娘です。ベルギーで生まれました。
自分はベトナム人なのに祖国を知らない。そんな少女の祖国への憧れを、なんとも心地よいメロディーに乗せて表現した歌です。
その後、本人の英語versionやベトナム語coverができました。色んな歌手にカバーされています。
べトナムの格安航空Viet Jet Airでは、目的地に着陸した時に流れます。
ベトナム人の実習生や留学生に、カラオケで歌ってあげたら、ホームシックになって泣いちゃうかもｗ
